Knitting Arm Warmers

30 Jan

Following the pattern by Missfee adapted from Cinnamonamon.

I used size 6 needles and Caron SimplySoft black yarn. I decided not to change colors for the cuffs.

This was my first round project and my first knitting project in several years, and I think I did pretty well. I started the project 3 times before I was finally able to complete it. Somewhere along the way I added too many stitches to the second arm warmer. On the first one I have this short extra bit of yarn attaching two non-adjacent stitches in a round. Since they are a little big on me, I decided to give (okay more like share) the arm warmers with my husband.

I’m currently warming myself up to attempts these wonderful socks from CRAFT. My next project will be striped arm warmers. These ones will let me continue practicing knitting in the round. I’m going to have to learn how to use stitch holders and I’ll be knitting a thumb. This should be enough warm up for the socks. Best of all I can use up some more of this black yarn. I still have a skein and a half left.
